Immigration Lawyer

Sandra born in Prince George, BC, is the Senior Lawyer/Principal at Ocana Law. She has a diverse immigration practice assisting individuals, family and businesses with their immigration and citizenship needs.

After graduating Law School, Sandra Articled in Kelowna, and was called to the British Columbia Bar in 2005.

Sandra opened Ocana Law in 2008, and focused her legal practice on Canadian Immigration Law.

Sandra has extensive experience in drafting and submitting various different types of immigration applications as well she has appeared and successfully argued case in front of the Immigration Appeal Division and Federal Court.

Sandra is a member of the Canadian Bar Association and a founding member of the Canadian Immigration Lawyers Association. She volunteers with Access to Justice and presents immigration workshops to various Immigration Settlement Offices throughout British Columbia.

When Sandra is not working, she is enjoys travelling and appreciates the benefits of living in the Okanagan, which includes local hiking trails; however, she particularly enjoys the trails that lead to the beautiful wineries.

Jasmine Somal

Jasmine is born and raised in the Okanagan. She obtained her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of British Columbia Okanagan before attending law school at Thompson Rivers University in Kamloops, BC. She obtained her law degree in 2021, and was called to the British Columbia Bar in May of 2022.

Jasmine is building her practice with a focus on Canadian immigration law and is happy to assist you with navigating the complex Canadian immigration system. Jasmine is a director at Kelowna Community Resources (KCR) and volunteers her time with the board regularly.

She is fluent in both Punjabi and Hindi.
When Jasmine is not working, she enjoys playing soccer, working out, travelling and exploring all of the outdoor activities and wineries the Okanagan has to offer. She is always looking for her next big adventure.

As a ‘side-hustle’, Jasmine can also be seen harvesting cherries at her family farm. She is indeed “rooted” in the Okanagan.

Alyssa

Alyssa

Senior Legal Assistant

Alyssa is born and raised in the Okanagan. You will find her being a bright ray of sunshine as the Senior Legal Assistant at Ocana Law and is often the first point of contact within our office.

Alyssa has over five years of experience in assisting our clients with their Canadian Immigration. She enjoys helping our clients with their immigration matters.

Prior to joining the Ocana team, Alyssa worked in a Senior’s Care Home, where she learned the art of “Let me get back to you”.

Outside the office, you can find Alyssa exploring the wonderful outdoors of the Okanagan, especially watersports with her adorably busy Boys.
